The Ojai Valley is part of the east-west trending Western Transverse Ranges and is about 10 miles (16 km) long by 3 miles (5 km) wide and divided into a lower and an upper valley, each of similar size, surrounded by hills and mountains.

Piedra Blanca Trailhead is a major paved trailhead facility on the Ojai Ranger District. It is at the end of the Sespe River Road, also known as Rose Valley Road. The trailhead is open all year.
Rose Valley Campground has nine fully accessible sites each with a picnic table, fire ring and pedestal grill. There is one single-seat vault toilet with a 1,000 gallon vault. There are six bear-proof trash cans for garbage collection. No drinking water is available. All roads are paved. Rose Valley Creek flows adjacent to the campground.
The mission of the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy is to protect and restore the open space, wildlife habitat, watersheds, and views of the Ojai Valley for current and future generations.
